Home landscape beautification often starts with simple ideas and singular plantings:  lawn construction that is often St. Augustinegrass, at least one fast growing tree for anticipated shade and a few foundation plantings of shrubs as a visual anchor. I offer to expand the effort and increase biodiversity by creating habitat for wildlife. National Planting Day Event

Calling all wanna-be native plant gardeners! Join us on September 13, 2017 at 6:30 PM for National Planting Day. Keep Pearland Beautiful will host a tour of the Yardwise Demonstration Garden at 5800 Magnolia in Pearland.  Park in front of the Stella Roberts Recycling Center, the garden is outside the fence on the east side of the center. This tour will highlight the use of native and adaptive plants and showcase the new labeling system installed at the garden. Keep Pearland Beautiful and Brazoria County Master Gardener Association invites you to a free lecture “Second Spring: Native Flowering Plants in Brazoria County.” Learn about fall flowering native plants with Brazoria County Extension Horticulture Agent Stephen Brueggerhoff.
