Due to the recent and current flooding conditions, we have compiled some information you may find useful. After A Disaster has a wide spread of informational topics to aid in recovery. If you are in the flooded areas and are using a water well, here is some information on disinfecting water wells by shock chlorination, as well as, disinfecting water wells and stored water. If you are in the flooded areas and are using a septic system, here is some information on responding to power outages and floods.

Also, free well testing for Brazoria County residents affected by recent flooding. The Brazoria County Water Lab will waive the testing fee for residents in any of the county flooded areas.  Water samples will be tested for coliform and ecoli bacteria. Residents must provide their address, which must fall within the determined locations affected by the flooded areas within Brazoria County.  Please contact the Brazoria County Water Lab at 979-864-1628 for instructions on proper collection of water samples and to obtain appropriate supplies. The Brazoria County Water Lab is located at 409 East Orange, Angleton, Texas 77515. Water from wells must be collected using a sample container provided by the Brazoria County Water Lab. Instructions will be provided from the lab on collecting water samples.
