Remember, you are not alone; each adult team may include up to 8 team members, all working together to reach the 832-mile goal. Over the next eight-weeks, you will receive weekly newsletters with tips for a successful virtual journey across Texas and resources tailored for individuals who would like to learn more about nutrition and exercise. Participating in Walk Across Texas! focuses on walking, which is considered one of the least expensive and easiest ways to exercise. Walking for 30 minutes every day will improve your overall health. Regular physical activity reduces the risk of heart attack and stroke, and helps maintain or reduce other risk factors such as high blood pressure,, cholesterol, excess body weight and diabetes.
